Cupcake Inspiration Challenge CIC450

Hello all,

I have made card for the cupcake inspiration challenge that’s going on this fortnight. And the color theme is yellow, black and white.

I used Neenah solar white 110 lb for my card. The base panel is neenah solar white 80 lb. I cut a square from the 80 lb cardstock creating a window in my card. I placed the window base on my card base and marked the square.

Then, I hand drew the branch of the tree and coloured it using #touch alcohol markers. The remaining square area is coloured with water brush. Once dry, the toucan is stamped, coloured and fussy cut and adhered to the branch using foam tape. The toucan and the flowers are from #mft stamps Polynesian Paradise stamp set. The flowers are stamped and fussy cut. Just added the yellow in the centre with the back of the pencil. And stuck the flowers with foam tape.

The backdrop gives the effect of the Sunny weather with the toucan sitting on a branch. And the sentiment reads, “warm wishes & sunny smiles”

This card is inspired by the weather lately in my place. Its the mid of monsoons and there is no trace of rain or clouds. Hoping this Toucan will be the lucky mascot and bring us Rain.

Did you know: Toucans live in rainforests 😍😍

The kind sponsors of this challenge are kitty bee designs. Hop on to the for some talented crafters sharing their take on the color theme.

Happy crafting,

Disha Lohiya

  1. This is such a fun design! Really wonderful use of the colours, and I adore that toucan. Thank you for joining us at Cupcake Inspirations – Charlotte/Lady Joyful, DT (PS, sorry for taking so long to comment – I’ve been unwell.)
